AI Tokenomics & Protocol Designer
Design the economic rules that govern how AI agents spend in the real world.
You will sit at the intersection of mechanism design, DeFi protocol engineering, and AI systems thinking. Your job is to design, model, and implement the economic logic that governs how AI agent wallets are funded, how spending policies are priced, how fee structures incentivize healthy platform behavior, and how the overall protocol sustains itself as a financial infrastructure layer. This is one of the most novel and high-leverage roles in the agentic AI space — no established playbook exists yet.
What You'll Do
- Design and formally model Nomiqon's fee structures, policy pricing models, and protocol incentive mechanisms for long-run sustainability
- Research and propose novel mechanisms for agent spending limits that account for dynamic AI behavior (e.g., adaptive rate limits, reputation-weighted caps)
- Build agent economic simulations to stress-test fee models, liquidity requirements, and worst-case spending scenarios before they hit production
- Collaborate with infrastructure engineers to translate economic models into enforceable on-chain or off-chain rules
- Monitor DeFi and stablecoin ecosystems for changes that affect Nomiqon's USDC liquidity stack or settlement layer assumptions
- Write detailed protocol specifications and research papers that establish Nomiqon's credibility in the agentic finance space
What We Need
- Deep understanding of mechanism design, game theory, and token economic models
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with DeFi protocols — AMMs, lending markets, stablecoin mechanisms, or payment rails
- Proficiency with economic simulation tooling (Python, Cadence, or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of USDC, Circle's reserve model, and stablecoin payment infrastructure
- Ability to bridge abstract economic reasoning and concrete engineering implementation
- Experience writing formal specifications for cryptographic or financial protocols
Nice to Have
- Prior work designing tokenomics for a deployed L1/L2 protocol or DeFi application
- Academic background in economics, computer science, or applied mathematics
- Deep familiarity with AI agent behavior patterns, LLM cost structures, or autonomous workflow economics
